Coronation Street and Emmerdale have faced multiple schedule changes this week due to football coverage on ITV. From cancelled episodes to schedule changes, soap fans are struggling to keep up-to-date with when they can find their favourite programmes on air.
Tonight's Schedule
Tonight (Wednesday, June 10), both soaps have been brought forward by one hour. ITV's coverage of international football begins at 8pm and is scheduled to end at 11.25pm.
England faces Costa Rica in a friendly broadcast live from Orlando, Florida. The match kicks off at 9pm which disrupts Corrie and Emmerdale's usual time slots.
Instead, Emmerdale airs at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX. The description for tonight's episode reads: "Laurel is feeling mortified, while Chas struggles to hold her tongue and Archie is left glowering."
Fans can tune into the drama in Weatherfield at 7.30pm instead of 8.30pm, when the hunt for Theo's killer continues.
The description for Wednesday's episode of the Manchester-based soap reads: "Maria grows uneasy about Gary, while Kit keeps a close eye on him; Sam's remark puzzles Roy; Lily's family mark her sporting achievement; and Megan lures Will back into her orbit."
Further Changes This Week
Both Corrie and Emmerdale have also been cancelled on Thursday evening due to the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony, followed by Mexico vs South Africa.
Soap fans will be pleased to know they're both back on Friday evening. Viewers can nestle down on the sofa for a night of drama in the Dales, followed by even more chaos in Weatherfield in two hour-long broadcasts at 8pm and 9pm.
