Paramount+ has announced a sequel event series to the 1995 cult-classic teen comedy Clueless, with Alicia Silverstone returning as Beverly Hills' it-girl Cher Horowitz. Silverstone will also serve as an executive producer on the project, which is set to begin production in Los Angeles in 2027.

According to Paramount+, the series picks up 30 years after the original film. Cher Horowitz has become a successful businesswoman and a mother, but finds herself feeling 'clueless' all over again when her daughter enters high school. The series is written and executive produced by Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage (known for The OC, Gossip Girl, Nancy Drew), and Jordan Weiss (Freakier Friday, Dollface). It is produced by CBS Studios.

The original Clueless holds an 82% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and remains a beloved classic. One fan said: "Absolute must see to re-live the "'90s". Everyone is excellent, spot on." Another wrote: "This movie is probably one of the best movies I have watched in this class." However, news of the sequel has sparked mixed reactions on social media. One person expressed concern: "As much as I enjoy Clueless, it's okay to leave it in the light it already provides fans and doesn't need to convert into a limited series as a sequel.." A release date for the sequel series has not yet been announced.
