Christine McGuinness has spoken of feeling "overwhelmed" and "frightened" as she comes to terms with a recent diagnosis of Raynaud's disease. The 37-year-old television personality first noticed symptoms at the start of the year when her hands unexpectedly seized up while trying to do up her children's school uniforms.
After several episodes, she sought medical advice in May and was told she has Raynaud's syndrome, a condition that causes an exaggerated reaction to the cold and affects blood flow to the extremities. A source close to the star said the diagnosis has brought some relief, but it has also heightened her health anxieties.
"Christine is a massive overthinker, so when it comes to her health, she does get really stressed," the source claimed. "She gets scared that she will seize up when no one is around or when she's alone with the kids, and have no help."
The former model, who has autism and ADHD, is mother to twins Leo and Penelope, 12, and nine-year-old Felicity, whom she shares with ex-husband Paddy McGuinness. The couple split in July 2022 but continue to live together to co-parent their children, all of whom have been diagnosed with autism.
Christine has previously spoken about her dislike of change, explaining that it is a significant issue for autistic and ADHD individuals. Appearing on Celebs Go Dating earlier this year, she quit the show, admitting she was not ready to focus on her romantic life. She said: "I need to date in a natural environment. It takes me a long time to sit in front of someone."
