Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) hit a new low in Emmerdale when her attempt to cover up a theft backfired, leading Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) to ban her from seeing baby Leyla.
Last week, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) secured £100,000 from Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) after sabotaging a poker game. Celebrating his victory over a Tate and his plans to open The Hide, Robert took his family to the pub, where he carelessly left the bag of money on a sofa. While he enjoyed drinks with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy), the money was stolen.
Aaron and Sarah investigated the theft but failed to identify the culprit.
Charity's Lie Exposed
In today's episode, Charity arrived at Emmerdale Farm and returned the missing bag of money to Aaron, Sarah, Serena, and Robert, claiming the Woolpack's window cleaner had taken it. However, Sarah had already deduced that Charity was lying.
In the pub, Sarah confronted Charity, expressing her disappointment in her gran. Having previously lied about baby Leyla, Charity's deception only worsened the situation. Sarah recognized that Charity was jealous and could not accept that she was enjoying living with the Sugdens.
Consequences for Charity
As Sarah left, she told Charity she was banned from seeing baby Leyla. Charity's secrets have damaged her relationship with Sarah permanently, and it remains unclear whether she can repair the rift or continue to fight for forgiveness.
