Martin Clunes is set to play disgraced newsreader Huw Edwards in a one-off factual drama for Channel 5. The actor, known for his role in Doc Martin, undergoes a vocal and physical transformation to portray Edwards' fall from grace. The drama includes intense phone conversations between Edwards and a vulnerable 17-year-old named Ryan, played by Osian Morgan.
The programme airs at 8pm on BBC One and is part of an evening lineup that also features Stacey Solomon helping two fathers declutter their home, and a true-crime documentary about the murder of Stephanie Hansen. The latter, airing at 9pm on ITV1, examines how WhatsApp messages proved her housemate Sheldon Rodrigues guilty of stabbing her to death.
Other highlights include the final episode of a caravan park renovation series on Sky One at 9pm, and a documentary on BBC Four at 10pm that uses animation and re-enactments to tell the stories of five Sudanese citizens. Additionally, a documentary on the trials of Coventry rapper Pa Salieu focuses on his life after prison, as he rebuilds his career while dealing with grief and parole conditions.
