Channel 5 confirms The Game series two return date

Channel 5 has confirmed that series two of The Game is returning soon, much to the delight of fans. The announcement came via a teaser on the broadcaster's social media, showing actors Robson Green and Jason Watkins reprising their roles as Patrick Harbottle and Huw Miller.

What happened in series one?

The four-part series, described as a 'cat and mouse thriller', followed police detective Huw (Jason Watkins), who was haunted by an unresolved case that had rocked his town years earlier. A stalker had terrorised and killed victims, and as Huw neared retirement, he couldn't shake the unsolved mystery.

Things took a sinister turn when he met his new neighbour, Patrick (Robson Green), who used a phrase the stalker had once said. The series built to a nail-biting finale, with Huw stabbed by Patrick and left bleeding as police arrived, ending on a huge cliffhanger.
