Rumours are intensifying about which famous faces could head to the Scottish Highlands for the second season of The Celebrity Traitors, with academic Hannah Fry thought to be in the running. The Sun reports that the mathematician and broadcaster has signed up for the new episodes, with filming set to begin this weekend.
Fry is currently professor of the public understanding of mathematics at the University of Cambridge. She has presented several television shows, including The Secret Genius of Modern Life and AI Confidential with Hannah Fry.
A BBC spokesperson told Radio Times: 'We are not commenting on speculation and details for The Celebrity Traitors series 2 will be announced in due course.' Other names rumoured to have been approached include Michael Sheen, Cheryl and Steve Pemberton.
However, Peter Capaldi has confirmed he will not take part, saying he does not want the extra attention. 'I think it propels you into the public eye, at a level of exposure that I don’t really want,' he told the BBC. James Nesbitt also revealed he turned down the show, admitting he was 'too scared' after the success of the first series.
Celebrity Traitors series 2 is coming to BBC One later this year. Series 1 is available on iPlayer.
