With the Celebrity Traitors finale set to air on Thursday 6 November at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer, the remaining finalists have shared their surprise at making it this far and revealed how friends and family have reacted to the series. The celebrities are competing to win up to £100,000 for their chosen charities, with the Faithful hoping to banish all Traitors and the Traitors aiming to deceive until the end.
Comedian Alan Carr admitted he was amazed to be in the final five, noting that he is known for lacking a 'poker face' and struggling to lie without sweating. Despite his family's pride, he found it odd given his reputation. Carr also addressed public scrutiny, including a psychologist's claim that he was playing a role rather than being his real self, calling it a 'quite a statement' from someone he had never met.
Another finalist, whose identity remains under wraps, expressed delight at the support from fans and family, saying they watched the first episode together and were screaming. The player, a self-proclaimed superfan of the show, admitted to finding the intensity of filming challenging but was grateful for the kind reactions and funny edits online.
Former rugby player and finalist reflected on his competitive nature, noting a history of near-misses in major tournaments. He credited the 'big dog theory'—devised with Joe Wilkinson—for exposing the first Traitor, Jonathan, and vowed to finish the job. His family worried he might ruin their favourite show, but his children became obsessed, and he was thrilled to receive a follow from Dawn French after a meme went viral.
Another contestant said they never expected to get on the show, let alone reach the final, and were surprised by how difficult the game was. However, the biggest surprise was forming 18 friendships despite the backstabbing nature of the competition. The finalist also noted the role of chance alongside strategy in the game.
Following the finale, an extended episode of The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked will air on BBC Two and Sounds, hosted by Ed Gamble, featuring the cast, finalists, and Claudia Winkleman reacting to the final episode and revealing behind-the-scenes details.
