The BBC has confirmed the return of Celebrity Race Across the World, with the new series airing on BBC One and iPlayer from Thursday 6 November at 8pm. The show strips celebrities of their usual luxuries as they embark on a gruelling overland race with only backpacks and a limited budget.
Four celebrity duos will take part: broadcaster and writer Anita Rani with her father Bal; actor Dylan Llewellyn alongside his mother Jackie; partners Tyler West, a presenter and DJ, and Molly Rainford, an actor and singer; and broadcaster Roman Kemp with his sister, singer-songwriter Harleymoon. Each pair must navigate their way across a challenging route without any VIP treatment.
The 5,900km journey begins on the Caribbean island of Isla Mujeres, off the coast of Mexico, and finishes in the remote Península de La Guajira in Colombia. The route crosses the Caribbean and Pacific coast of Central America, described by producers as one of the most diverse and visually stunning yet.
