Celebrity Hunted is replacing The Undeclared War on Channel 4, with the Simon Pegg drama's final two episodes airing as a double bill on Wednesday, August 5 at 9pm and 10pm.
The Undeclared War, which stars Simon Pegg and Siân Brooke, returned for a second season after a four-year hiatus. The series follows a team of GCHQ analysts working to prevent cyber-attacks on the UK in 2024. Pegg plays Danny Patrick, GCHQ Director of Operations, with the new season exploring his personal life and his relationship with his wife Barbara, a former MI5 officer now working as an analyst.
Schedule Change
Series two began in July, airing on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. However, the penultimate episode was pulled from the schedule on Tuesday, August 4 to make way for Celebrity Hunted, which now takes over the primetime slot.
Celebrity Hunted is a star-studded version of the show in aid of Stand Up To Cancer. Celebrity fugitives, including Strictly Come Dancing professionals Amy Dowden MBE and Carlos Gu, will go on the run and disappear into mainland Britain, cutting themselves off from their usual lives. For 14 days, they must stay hidden and trust no one, as the hunt is on the moment they leave a trail.
Most Ambitious Series
The new season has been described as the "most ambitious" yet, featuring a "breath-taking aerial launch amongst the skyscrapers of London" and a "daring" escape for those who evade capture.
Ian Dunkley, Factual Entertainment Commissioning Editor for Channel 4, said: "When celebrities go on the run and are forced to engage the help of us mere mortals, chaos and comedy inevitably ensue.
"Hunted down by a motivated team of police and security professionals, this series reveals what it takes to remain hidden when everybody knows what you look like."
Celebrity Hunted began on Monday, August 3 and airs on Monday and Tuesday nights at 9pm. For viewers who prefer drama, Channel 5 is airing Benidorm is Murder, from the writer of Death in Paradise, while BBC is showing The Rapture starring Ruth Madeley, Iwan Rheon and Ruth Jones.
