In the latest episode of Casualty, airing on BBC One at 8:50pm on Saturday, July 11, Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) was left fearing for Dylan Keogh’s (William Beck) wellbeing after discovering that her former friend and colleague had relapsed. Recovering alcoholic Dylan had a drink following his keynote speech, witnessed by his son Matty Linlaker (Aaron Julius).
Dylan's Struggle and Confrontation
Dylan woke the following morning on the toilet floor. He received a call from Rash Masum (Neet Mohan), who wanted assistance with a patient. Despite feeling horrendous, Dylan headed into work and throughout his shift he struggled to focus, which didn’t go unnoticed by those around him. Matty confronted him over what he saw. Dylan attempted to play it down and Matty offered his support, but Dylan responded by pushing his son away.
Stevie's Investigation
Stevie was curious to know why Matty missed his dad’s keynote speech. Tensions between the trio have been at an all-time high since Dylan discovered Stevie and Matty’s affair and reported it to Flynn Byron (Olly Rix), despite Matty’s pleas. Stevie faced losing her career but was reinstated, much to Dylan’s horror. Matty berated his dad for going behind his back, leaving Dylan feeling alone and isolated as he delivered his speech without any loved ones in attendance.
Matty only turned up to the event because Stevie had talked him around, so she was keen to find out why he didn’t attend after all. After much hesitation, Matty revealed that Dylan had relapsed. Horrified, Stevie urged him to help his dad. Matty made it clear that following his showdown with Dylan earlier in the day, he was staying out of it. Stevie, without wasting a second, headed to Dylan’s boat, desperately trying to locate him.
Desperate Search
The consultant was told by a passerby that Dylan had taken off in a hurry. In subsequent scenes, we saw Dylan driving in his car with a bottle nearby. Will Stevie track him down? Or is more tragedy set to strike?
Casualty airs Saturdays at 8:50pm on BBC One or streams from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
