Cassie's plan backfires as she drugs Ross's drink

Cassie Plummer's desperate attempt to expose Ross on Coronation Street next week ends in disaster, leaving her isolated from everyone she cares about. Convinced that Ross is hiding something, Cassie takes matters into her own hands after receiving a call from his ex-girlfriend Alison Shave.

She summons Steve, Tyrone, Tracy and Ross to the Rovers and introduces Alison, who claims Ross stole money from her and threatened her. But the revelation does not have the impact Cassie hoped for, as Ross announces he has accepted a job at Highfield Prison and will stay in Weatherfield.

Cassie plots revenge

Fuming, Cassie storms out but Steve urges patience. However, at a birthday tea for Ross hosted by Fiz, Cassie watches as everyone celebrates him. Tracy gushes about how happy she is and describes Ross as a ‘real alpha male’. Unable to stay silent, Cassie speaks out but only makes things worse.

Later, Cassie realises Ross has stayed the night and overhears he needs to pass a drugs test for his new job. She secretly crushes Tyrone's strong painkillers and slips them into Ross's travel mug. In her rush to leave, she drops the empty pill packet.

Devastating fallout

Steve finds the evidence and works out what she did. Furious and deeply disappointed, he tells Cassie their relationship is over. Tyrone also reaches the end of his tether and throws her out. After months trying to expose Ross, Cassie finds herself the villain in everyone's eyes.
