Caleb Milligan is facing a crisis of confidence after being easily duped by a scammer who used a fake voice recording of his daughter Steph to demand £5,000. The Emmerdale character, played by William Ash, paid the money without question, leaving him embarrassed and feeling like a disgrace to the Dingle family name. The scammer now knows he is an easy target, which only adds to his bruised ego.
Caleb's quest for revenge
Determined to restore his reputation, Caleb decides to call the police and vows to get revenge on whoever tricked him. His wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly) points out that the scammer seemed to know private details about Laurel and Ross, suggesting the culprit is someone close to the family. Unbeknownst to Caleb, the scammer is actually Jai Sharma's (Chris Bisson) teenage son Archie (Kai Assi). The irony of being outsmarted by a child is not lost on Caleb, and he is mortified.
Kerry gets involved
Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) discovers Archie's scam and, despite an initial crisis of conscience, decides to encourage him. Their plans are nearly derailed when Pollard (Chris Chittell) catches them and threatens to call the police, but Kerry's quick talking convinces him to back down. Meanwhile, Caleb's pride is dented, and he needs a fix.
A new criminal venture
Spotting Kerry with a counterfeit purse gives Caleb an idea. He plans to start selling knock-off goods to regain his edge. With a depot and haulage vehicles at his disposal, he has the perfect platform for his criminal enterprise. However, he must keep it secret from Jai. To pull it off, he recruits Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) as his right-hand man, trusting him because Billy handled the bank transfer for the scam.
Billy's reluctant involvement
Billy is hesitant at first, but Caleb piles on the pressure, and Billy eventually agrees to make the drop. Their counterfeit business is now up and running. Meanwhile, after Caleb tells Jai about the swindle, Jai starts connecting the dots and realizes his son may be involved. He corners Kerry and demands to know what she has done, but will Kerry betray the teenager?
As the drama unfolds, Caleb's quest for redemption takes a dangerous turn, and the consequences could be far-reaching for everyone involved.
