Bridgerton fans have been thrown into chaos after Netflix announced that the fourth series will debut in 2026. The official Bridgerton account on X posted a teaser from the upcoming season featuring a masquerade ball, accompanied by a message declaring that the season would arrive in 2026.
Supporters flocked to social media to demand a more specific release date. One fan asked if it was January or December 2026, to which the Bridgerton account replied: “Patience, my dear. All will be revealed when this author declares it so.” Others joked about bribing the admin or claimed birthday privileges to extract the exact date.
Previous seasons have had varied release dates, with the first debuting on Christmas Day 2020, the second on 25 March 2022, and the third split into two parts on 16 May and 13 June 2024. Given Netflix’s trend of dividing popular programmes, it is likely that season four will also be released in segments.
Behind-the-scenes footage from the masquerade ball was shared on Valentine’s Day, showing Penelope and Violet Bridgerton in full regalia. In May, fans saw a scene where Benedict Bridgerton first lays eyes on Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha, at the ball, becoming instantly captivated as she admires a chandelier. When another gentleman asks Sophie to dance, Benedict looks distressed at the prospect of losing her.
