Bradley Walsh has confirmed he is leaving the BBC game show Blankety Blank, explaining that his jam-packed television commitments have left him unable to continue hosting the revived series.
The 66-year-old TV star, who has fronted the reboot since 2020, told the Radio Times: 'I just don't have the time, which is sad because I've loved Blankety Blank. It's been one of my favourite shows, and it's been brilliant... It's the most fun you can have in the studio, and I just cannot at the moment work on it.'
No Time for Filming
Walsh revealed that his schedule is already full for October and November, when the show would normally be filmed. 'I just have not got the time. I would normally go to studio October, but I'm all taken up in October and November, so I just haven't time to do it. Maybe next year,' he said.
One of the busiest presenters on British television, Walsh hosts ITV's The Chase since 2009 and its spin-off Beat the Chasers. On the BBC, he presents the reboot of Gladiators alongside his son Barney Walsh, and the pair also star in the ITV travel series Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad.
Live Tour and Show History
Outside of television, Walsh is set to tour with The Prat Pack, joining Brian Conley, Shane Richie and Joe Pasquale for a series of UK dates from September 2 to September 26.
Blankety Blank originally launched in 1979 with Sir Terry Wogan, followed by Les Dawson from 1984 to 1990. The show was revived in 1997 with Paul O'Grady as Lily Savage until 2002.
