Bradley Walsh has announced a break from filming The Chase for 'just over a year', giving him the chance to return to acting. The 66-year-old presenter revealed the show has been stockpiling episodes, allowing the cast and crew to pursue other projects.
Walsh, who recently starred in The Larkins, told The Sun's TV Mag: 'I haven’t been able to do a drama in ages, so I now get the opportunity to go back and do another drama.' He also confirmed he will host a new Sky History series, Out of This World, blending science and humour to investigate mysteries like crop circles and extraterrestrial sightings.
The Chase Around the World, a spin-off, launches on 16 July, with six pairs of contestants competing in a global tour for a £100,000 prize. Walsh praised the show's team, noting that 20 children have been born to production staff during his tenure.
Despite the hiatus, Walsh expressed his fondness for The Chase, saying, 'Familiarity doesn’t breed contempt, sometimes it just breeds happiness. It’s a juggernaut and long may it reign.'
