The Chase contestant calls Bradley Walsh a 'moron' in awkward moment

An episode of The Chase aired last month saw contestant Julia, 56, make an unprovoked dig at host Bradley Walsh. After a light-hearted exchange about the word 'oxymoron', Julia quipped 'What a moron even', leaving Walsh momentarily taken aback.

Julia was the first of four contestants to face Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty. She answered three questions correctly in the cash builder before opting to stay in the middle offer. During her first set of questions, she struggled with the answer about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

After Walsh joked about the 'dichotomy' of greed and famine, Julia retorted with the insult. Walsh simply replied: 'Thanks! That's very kind of you,' before confirming her answer was correct and she progressed.

Julia banked £3,000 for the team. Fellow contestants Mike (64) added £6,000, while Laurie (26) was caught by Hegerty and sent home. Andy (31) added £5,000, bringing the total to £14,000.

In the final chase, the three remaining players managed 19 correct answers, but Hegerty caught them with eight seconds left, meaning the team left empty-handed.
