Blue Peter star Katy Hill's unexpected career change

Katy Hill, one of the most recognisable faces of 1990s children's television, has swapped the studio for a new role as a life coach.

The presenter, who fronted Blue Peter from 1995 to 2000, became the first civilian to fly with the RAF's Red Arrows during her time on the show. She went on to present BBC One's Live and Kicking until 2001, as well as Top of the Pops, Football Fever, Holiday and a weekend programme on Capital FM.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain last year, Hill explained her lifelong ambition to join Blue Peter, saying she had wanted to present the show since the age of five. "It was because this was the '70s, right, you guys know this? There had been no girl power. That was the place I saw girls jumping out of planes, flying fast jets and fast cars," she said.

After finishing as runner-up on Channel 4's The Games in 2004, Hill continued to work in broadcasting for Heart Radio and ITV's Daybreak, as well as writing columns for magazines. However, she has now largely stepped away from television. Marketing herself as an "Internationally Certified Success and Confidence Coach", she offers coaching programmes, group sessions and one-to-one appointments. She also runs a newsletter called The Limitless List and posts motivational content on social media. Her Instagram biography reads: "The shy kid who refused to play small and spent 30 years on TV! Now empowering women like YOU to UNLOCK your CONFIDENCE and CLAIM the SUCCESS you deserve!"

Hill, 55, has been married to her former Live and Kicking co-host Trey Farley for more than 20 years. The couple celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in July 2023 and have two children together, Kaya and Akira. She was previously married to Andrew Frampton from 1999 to 2001.
