Billy left for dead in Emmerdale, Joe Tate suspected

Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) has been left for dead after an attack in Emmerdale, with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) a prime suspect. Just hours earlier, Joe discovered that Billy had kissed his partner Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).

Caleb reveals the secret

Caleb Miligan (William Ash) told Joe about the kiss after Billy had asked him to keep it quiet. Caleb, who dislikes Joe, took pleasure in informing his nephew and claimed Dawn and Billy are soulmates.

Joe's reaction

At Home Farm, Joe updated Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), believing Dawn didn't tell him because she still has feelings for Billy. Graham advised Joe to talk to Dawn, but Joe seemed set on taking action beyond a conversation.

Gabby ends relationship

Later, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) revealed to Dawn that she had ended her relationship with Billy. Dawn called Billy and left a voicemail, hoping he didn't end things because of their kiss. Unbeknownst to Dawn, Billy was lying in the middle of a depot surrounded by blood.

Who attacked Billy?

It remains unclear whether Joe carried out the violent revenge, or if Gabby acted after being dumped, or if someone else was responsible.
