Bill Bailey, the popular comedian and musician, has a small but memorable role in the new Prime Video action comedy series Ride or Die. Fans may have done a double-take when they spotted him in episode five, playing a character named Elijah, a money launderer.
Bill Bailey's Role in Ride or Die
Bailey first appears in episode five when the two main characters, Debbie (Octavia Spencer) and Judith (Hannah Waddingham), along with their friend Billy Donovan (Ed Skrein), seek Elijah's help. Billy hoped Elijah could trace the stolen money that Debbie's husband, David (Jamie Parker), had taken from an Albanian mob. However, Elijah discovers that the account has been drained of its funds, leaving them empty-handed.
Later, Elijah refuses to offer refuge to Judith, Debbie, and Billy after Judith is stabbed by the Albanians. His refusal proves fatal when assassin Ana (Sylvia Hoeks) tracks him down. Ana, on a mission to kill Judith for betraying her on a previous job, uses Elijah as bait to trap Judith and her friends. Once she has what she needs, she shoots Elijah dead, ending his services permanently.
Bailey's Confirmed Cameo
Bailey's role is confirmed in the end credits, though some fans initially failed to recognize him. The comedy star has previously made cameo appearances in shows and films such as Maid Marian and her Merry Men, The Libertine, Run Fatboy Run, and Skins.
