Big Brother fans baffled by 'messiest eviction' as Farida and Emily return

Big Brother viewers were left confused during Friday's live eviction when a dramatic twist saw no one actually leave the house. Instead, housemate Sam was 'fake evicted' and sent to a secret room where he joined former contestants Farida and Emily, who have both returned to the show.

The twist began after Sam and Nancy were nominated for eviction following a private conversation about Jenny being revealed to the house, sparking a major row. Hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu announced that Sam had received the most public votes, leading everyone to believe he was leaving. However, he was escorted to a hidden room where he met Farida, the first evictee from the 2023 series, and Emily, who was evicted on the first night of the current series.

Fans quickly took to social media to express their confusion, with many noting the unusually quiet crowd during the eviction. One viewer wrote: 'They definitely know something is up because the crowd was far too quiet.' Another added: 'Messiest fake eviction of all time.'

Farida, who made a huge impact during her short stay in the 2023 series, explained her desire to return: 'The amount of time you put into the whole process, I didn’t really feel fulfilled - I only had a few days in there. You’ve got to listen to your fans. I’m doing it for the fans.'

The trio will remain hidden from their fellow housemates before re-joining the game later in the series. Big Brother airs on ITV2 and ITVX from Sundays through Fridays, followed by Big Brother: Late & Live.
