Parish councillor George Gilbert, 23, has been removed from the ITV reality show Big Brother after repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour, a show spokesperson confirmed. The removal came after he received a formal warning during Monday night's episode for mocking a fellow housemate.
During a game of truth or dare, George told housemate Sam his worst quality was being 'too' something, then mimicked Sam's voice and body language with a limp-wrist gesture. Sam later told Big Brother in the diary room that the impression felt like mockery of a disability and brought back school bullying memories, leaving him upset.
A Big Brother spokesperson said: 'Following repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour, George has been removed from the Big Brother House with immediate effect and will no longer participate in the programme.' The PA news agency reports that George received several previous warnings, but most were not broadcast due to being contrary to broadcasting standards.
George's offensive comments from Wednesday's episode will also not air. He also caused offence in a separate conversation about homelessness, claiming people 'know drugs are bad' and should 'stop deflecting responsibility'. Friday's eviction will proceed as planned, with details explained during Wednesday's episode of Big Brother: Late and Live.
