A brand new detective series, Benidorm is Murder, premieres on Channel 5 this week. The show stars John Hannah as a burned-out ex-police officer who relocates to Benidorm, only to get drawn into solving murders when tourists start dying.

John Hannah, known for A Touch of Cloth, plays ex-detective Dennis Govan. He teams up with Rosa, an aspiring actress played by Carolina Bécquer, who is obsessed with classic British crime shows. The supporting cast includes Denise Welch, Alistair McGowan, and Tamzin Outwaite. The series was written by Ian Jarvis, a Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise writer.

Synopsis
The synopsis describes Dennis as a failed ex-police officer hiding behind a Scottish pub in Benidorm. Rosa talks her way into his bar and his investigations.
