The new detective drama Benidorm is Murder lands on Channel 5 on Thursday, July 30 at 9pm. Created by Death in Paradise writer Ian Jarvis, the series follows burned-out ex-police officer Dennis (John Hannah), who hides behind a failing Scottish pub in Benidorm. He meets Rosa (Carolina Bécquer), an aspiring actress obsessed with classic British crime shows, and together they become unlikely sleuths.

John Hannah plays Dennis – a broken ex-detective. Hannah said: "I mean he is broken. He’s sitting on the side-lines in this bar... He’s found a bush and he’s crawled into it." Known for Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Mummy, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Carolina Bécquer plays Rosa – an aspiring actress. Bécquer said: "Honestly, I felt an immediate connection to her... It was very instinctive."
Ariadna Cabrol plays DS María Hernandez – a sharp Spanish inspector. Writer Ian Jarvis noted: "There is definitely chemistry between Dennis and Maria."
Brian Bovell plays Archie – a Benidorm enigma who often holds key insights. Known for The Bill, Coronation Street, and Hollyoaks.
Damian Schedler Cruz plays PC Jesús Ballesteros – a young cop who grudgingly respects Dennis and Rosa.
Eva van der Gucht plays Jackie – a blunt character who sells tat. Jarvis said: "She’s got her ear to the ground... she is quite a broad character."

Alistair McGowan plays faded 90s game-show star Vince Starky. He is a comic actor known for Big Impression.
