The Testaments season finale has finally unveiled Becka's fate, and it is even more heartbreaking than fans anticipated. After brutally murdering her father in Episode 9, the teenage girl, played by Mattea Conforti, was taken to a secret prison by The Eyes. Given the severity of her crime, execution seemed inevitable. However, a bittersweet solution emerged.
Becka's Mother Takes the Fall
The Aunts devised a plan to pin the murder on Becka's mother, portrayed by Kate Hewlett, leaving her to face the consequences. They instructed Becka to tell the court that she found her mother standing over the bathtub with pruning shears, while her deceased father lay in the bath. Mrs. Grove agreed to this plan, knowing it was the only way to save her daughter. Despite Becka's attempts to take responsibility, the Aunts convinced her to let her mother sacrifice herself.
A devastating scene later showed Mrs. Grove being hanged in court, at the same moment her daughter was getting married. Becka had no family to support her on her wedding day, but her best friend Agnes, played by Chase Infiniti, stood by her side just before she married Garth, portrayed by Brad Alexander.
