Netflix has announced a live darts event called Beat Luke Littler, offering amateur players the chance to compete against the world champion for a £501,000 prize. The event takes place on October 30 and is open to anyone aged 12 and over, with 20 hopefuls eventually selected to face the 19-year-old sensation.
How the Event Works
In a promotional video, Littler said: ‘Reckon you could beat me in a game of darts? Let’s go.’ The £501,000 jackpot is a nod to the standard 501-point format used in darts, where players aim to reach zero.
Qualifying heats will be held in London and Manchester in September, and those interested must apply via BeatLukeLittler.com. Applicants will be asked about their darts experience, including how long they have been playing and why they believe they can beat Littler. Anyone under 18 attending an audition must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Littler’s Dominance
Littler first gained fame at age 16 when he reached the 2024 PDC World Darts Championship final. Since then, he has become one of the sport’s greatest players, winning the Premier League, the Grand Slam of Darts, and in January 2025 becoming the youngest-ever PDC world champion and world number one at 17.
Recently, Littler retained his Betfred World Matchplay title against Gerwyn Price in Blackpool. He averaged a record-breaking 111.53 in the final, finishing the tournament with an overall average of 111.04, surpassing Phil Taylor’s previous 106.31. Littler also smashed his own World Matchplay record for 180s, landing 66 maximums across the tournament, including 12 in the final.
