The BBC has confirmed that 'Here We Go' will return for a third series, with creator Tom Basden promising to take the Jessop family to 'weird and wonderful places.' The show, which follows the chaotic lives of the Jessop family, will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from Friday 25 July at 9pm.
The new series sees the return of the all-star cast including Jim Howick, Katherine Parkinson, Alison Steadman, and Freya Parks. Mum Rachel is starting her new life as a therapist, while Dad Paul, now a police constable, continues his quest for respect. Uncle Robin and wife Cherry are busy with a new arrival, baby Atlas, and grandmother Sue has moved back into the family home.
Series three will feature a family holiday to Malta, where nothing goes according to plan, as well as episodes involving a live action role-play festival and the family getting locked in the house. Guest stars include Jane Horrocks, Robert Glenister, and Jamali Maddix.
Tom Basden explained that writing the third series allowed for more ambitious storylines, as the characters are now well-established. 'You can try things that are a little bit more crazy or a little bit more strange,' he said. The series continues to explore themes of love, loss, and family gatherings, with Sam capturing all the calamity on camera.
