The BBC has revealed the full cast for its upcoming detective series "Hercule," based on Agatha Christie's iconic Belgian detective. Edward Bluemel will lead the cast as Hercule Poirot, joined by Henry Ashton, James D'Arcy, Calvin Demba, Phil Dunning, Jack Gleeson, Tamsin Greig, James Nesbitt, Guy Remmers, Rebecca Rittenhouse, and Mawaan Rizwan.
Series Details
The six-part drama, written by Benji Walters, will explore the origins of "the world's greatest detective." Directors include Jonny Campbell, Chanya Button, and Alrick Riley, each helming two episodes. Charlie Palmer serves as series producer. Filming is set to begin soon in Liverpool.
According to the official synopsis, the series is "an intimate study of Hercule the man and an epic portrait of Britain between the wars." It will adapt three of Christie's most celebrated stories while charting Poirot's friendship with Captain Arthur Hastings, his early encounters with Scotland Yard's James Japp, and his introduction to a nemesis.

Agatha Christie's Poirot novels have sold over 750 million copies worldwide. The character first appeared in "The Mysterious Affair at Styles" in 1920. One Amazon reviewer called the novel "a timeless masterpiece that left me utterly captivated from start to finish."
"Hercule" will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in 2027.
