The BBC Welsh crime drama The Pact, which first aired in 2021, continues to keep viewers gripped. The six-part series stars Gabrielle Creevy as Tamsin, a troubled teenager, and Laura Fraser as her mother Anna.
The series follows four brewery co-workers whose loyalty is tested when their arrogant boss turns up dead. The four make a pact to keep their involvement silent, but that tragic night sets off a tense chain of police investigations and escalating blackmail.
Cast and filming locations
Laura Fraser and Gabrielle Creevy are joined by Broadchurch star Julie Hesmondhalgh, along with Eiry Thomas, Heledd Gwynn, Eddie Marsan and Jason Hughes. The drama was filmed across Wales, with locations including Blaenavon, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire and Newport serving as key settings.
The official synopsis for The Pact reads: "When a young brewery boss is found dead, a chain of events is triggered that draws four of his employees into a fragile pact of silence that will change their lives forever."
Second series and fan praise
The show returned in 2024 for a second series, following a different group of people as one family's loyalties are tested when they are confronted by a stranger. Since the first series aired, fans have been full of praise.
