The BBC has confirmed that the European Athletics Championships will replace The Rapture when the psychological thriller concludes on Sunday, August 9. The five-part series, which began in July, will air its final episode at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
The Rapture's Finale and Cast
The drama, adapted from Liz Jensen's bestselling novel, stars Ruth Madeley and India Amarteifio as Dr Gabrielle Fox and Bethany Krall. Gabs is a psychologist returning to work after a car accident that killed her husband and left her a wheelchair user. Bethany, her patient, is in a secure unit for allegedly murdering her mother, though she insists she is innocent and claims to foresee disasters.
The ensemble cast includes Sam Hazeldine, Jack Farthing, Stephen Campbell Moore, Ruth Jones, Iwan Rheon, Lisa Palfrey, Siena Kelly, Naby Dakhli, Richard Elis, Dean Rehman, and Robert Rhodes.
Athletics Coverage Takes Over
From August 10 to 16, Europe's biggest athletics stars head to Birmingham for the first home European Athletics Championships. The BBC will provide live coverage across BBC One, BBC Two, and BBC iPlayer, with daily updates on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds.
