Return to Manchester

The musical returns to Manchester for the first time since 2020, when its run was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. The show later opened at London's Adelphi Theatre in 2021. Lead producer Colin Ingram said: "I'm so delighted that the show can finish off what it started in Manchester 6 years ago after receiving such an incredible reception there."

Co-creator Bob Gale added: "BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical is coming home! Speaking for the entire creative team, we are beyond thrilled to be returning to the Manchester Opera House, which we consider the birthplace of BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical and one of the UK's best venues!" He noted that the audience response in 2020 helped shape the show creatively.

Audience Reviews

The musical has received praise from attendees on Tripadvisor. One reviewer wrote: "One of my favourite movies from when we were kids, and the show did not disappoint! We loved it! Great songs, music, dancing, story. Everyone should see this!" Another said: "Amazing!!! My son’s first show at 15! He loved every minute. It was wonderfully cast and we laughed throughout. Great sets and we didn’t want it to end. 10/10!!!"

However, some noted issues with seating. One visitor commented: "It’s very hard to get past the original but the cast and show in general are well worth seeing. Only issue I would have really is with the seats. We were in the dress circle and the seats were low and very little space for legs."
