Wednesday Fans Spot Possible Aunt Ophelia Cameo in Season 2 Part 1

The first part of Wednesday's second season has landed on Netflix, with the initial four episodes following Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) as she grapples with the loss of her psychic abilities. Investigating a series of mysterious deaths, Wednesday discovers the killer is always one step ahead, seemingly taunting her. It emerges that the murderer, revealed at the end of episode four, had managed to block Wednesday's powers.

In a heart-to-heart with her mother Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Wednesday learns about her Aunt Ophelia, a psychic relative who once stayed at Willow Hill. Morticia recounts how Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley) abandoned Ophelia in her time of need, and urges Wednesday to abandon her pursuit to avoid repeating history.

A new fan theory suggests Aunt Ophelia may have already appeared unnoticed in episode four. When Wednesday visits a clandestine programme called LOIS (Long Term Outcast Integration Study), she finds outcasts reported dead are actually being held captive. One woman with long brunette hair reacts distinctly upon seeing Wednesday, asking if she has come to kill her. Given Ophelia's powerful but uncontrollable psychic abilities, she would have been an ideal candidate for experimentation.

The woman later escapes with Wednesday's help, and all signs point to her being Aunt Ophelia. If correct, the pair may now uncover their family ties. Wednesday season 2 part 1 is available now on Netflix, with part 2 premiering on September 3.
