Two stars of The Apprentice have announced their engagement nearly a decade after meeting on the BBC reality show. Michaela Wain and Harrison Jones, who appeared on series 13, revealed the news with a social media post from Tokyo, where Harrison proposed.
The couple, who welcomed son Grayson in 2018, shared pictures from their trip, with Michaela flashing her engagement ring. The post was captioned "A Tale of Tokyo" with heart and ring emojis, prompting congratulations from co-stars including Jade English and Michaela's brother Josh Ritchie.
During the 2017 series, Harrison was eliminated halfway through, while Michaela reached the final, finishing behind joint winners Sarah Lynn and James White. Michaela previously admitted she never expected to meet her partner on the show, noting that her brother also found love through reality TV on Love Island.
She recalled how they were initially friends, with a three-month gap before the show aired, and grew closer once they could talk about it together. Harrison reflected on their journey, saying: "From meeting in the most unique, once in a lifetime way, to becoming a dad to the most amazing little boy, starting a family, and getting engaged in Tokyo, it's been a pretty nuts journey, so far."
Michaela had recently hinted that she expected a proposal, joking: "He's not my husband yet, but hopefully he will pop the question soon! He's being a real slug about the situation!"
