Alan Carr has confirmed he has purchased Ayton Castle in the Scottish Borders for his upcoming Disney+ series Castle Man. The comedian made the revelation at Advertising Week Europe in London.
The series, produced by Expectation (the company behind Clarkson's Farm), follows Carr as he attempts to run the castle. The idea came to him during his stay at the Traitors' castle while filming the BBC's Celebrity Traitors, which he went on to win.
Carr won the first Celebrity Traitors last year, donating his £87,500 prize to children's cancer charity Neuroblastoma UK. He said he fell in love with the castle concept and wants to use the property for community events such as dog shows, comedy nights, and fetes.
Emphasising the purchase is genuine, Carr stated he is selling his current home and moving to Scotland. A release date for Castle Man has not yet been announced.
