Actors Matt Stokoe and Nicholas Gleaves have voiced their enthusiasm for a potential third series of ITV's hit police drama After the Flood, following the release of series two earlier this month.
Speaking exclusively, the duo, who play Detective Pat Holman and Sergeant Phil Mackie respectively, said they would love to return. Gleaves noted: 'I think there's much, I think what he's done is he's created a depth that it could go deeper. And there are unanswered questions at the end of season two. So hopefully we will get to come back.'
Series two of the show, which premiered on 18 January, follows newly promoted detective Jo Marshall, played by Sophie Rundle, as she investigates a baffling murder amid rising tensions in Waterside. The entire series is available on ITVX, with weekly episodes airing on Sundays and Mondays on ITV.
Fans have taken to social media to praise the second series and call for a third. One viewer wrote: 'What an ending #AfterTheFlood series 2 hopefully will be a 3rd series @ITV @WeAreSTV.' Another added: 'I'm going to need a 3rd series of #AfterTheFlood effective immediately!'
