Good Morning Britain presenter Adil Ray has confirmed that his ITV quiz show Lingo will return for a sixth series. The announcement was made via his official Instagram account over the weekend, where he shared that the production team is looking for more contestants.
What is Lingo?
Lingo is a quiz show played between teams of two contestants, who must solve mystery words. The team in control is given the first letter of each mystery word and has five attempts to guess and spell it correctly. After each guess, the team is told whether their guess contains letters that are in the mystery word and whether they are in the correct position. The two team members alternate guesses.
If a team fails to identify the word within five guesses, fails to guess within the 10-second time limit, or gives a misspelt or invalid word, control passes to the opposing team and one correct letter is revealed.

Alongside an advert posted on his Instagram grid, Adil wrote: "Do you fancy being in the next series of Lingo? The team are looking for contestants! See you in September!!"
Fans reacted enthusiastically in the comments. One follower wrote: "I want to apply but I have nobody to apply with." Another added: "Hurray glad Lingo is coming i have missed it xx"

The advert reads: "ITV's hit quiz show is back and we want you! Got a way with words? Love a bit of friendly competition? You could win thousands of pounds! Team up with your partner, sibling, best friend, flatmate, parent or even grandparent! We're looking for fun, lively duos who are thinking and up for a challenge." It then explains how to apply.
Adil Ray has hosted Good Morning Britain since 2018 as part of a presenter rotation. He is best known as the creator, co-writer, and star of the BBC One comedy series Citizen Khan, and for playing Sadiq Nawaz in the Channel 4 drama Ackley Bridge. He has also appeared in Channel 5's The Inheritance, ITV's Beecham House, and the films Blithe Spirit, Arthur's Whisky, and Picture This.
