Adam Thomas has revealed exactly what happened behind the scenes during the chaotic I'm A Celebrity final, including his refusal to speak to hosts Ant and Dec after being crowned winner.
A Win Marred by Controversy
The final descended into chaos on Friday as Adam was crowned winner. Shockingly, David Haye continued his tirade at Adam throughout the final, and Jimmy Bullard also branded Adam 'intimidating, aggressive and abusive' over his behaviour following the Rancid Run trial, which saw Jimmy throw their attempt to make it through.
Now, Adam has opened up about what he had to deal with throughout the final. In a new episode of his podcast, At Home with The Thomas Bro's, he said: 'When they were announcing the winner, I just felt the colour drain from my face. The moment where I realised this isn't about me, this is not about me, this is about you guys and whatever agenda you want to fill off the back of me.'
Feeling Like He Sold His Soul
He continued: 'It was like the curtain had just been pulled back. I feel, in all honestly, like I sold my soul. I feel like I sold my soul. You couldn't pay me a million pound - ten million pound - to do that experience again. Nothing is worth what I went through.'
Adam admitted that despite never winning anything in his life, the joy of victory was stolen from him. He contrasted his experience with his son Teddy's happiness at a dance competition: 'I got home and my son Teddy had been at a dance competition and he had four trophies, and the joy that he had in his face and in his eyes and I hugged him and started crying because that's the joy I wanted to feel when I won.'
Refusing to Speak to Ant and Dec
Adam also revealed it was true that he threw his crown following his win as he struggled with all that had happened. He also revealed that Ant and Dec - who he thanked for having his back - had asked him to do a live after the show but he refused. Adam also didn't appear on Unpacked, and his brothers revealed that Adam was crying between the two shows backstage.
Adam's brothers paid huge compliment to how their sibling dealt with the drama and how he continues to in the aftermath. Ryan said: 'Honestly, you've done me so proud and I look up to you so much. Honestly, I'm so f***ing blessed that I've got you in my corner because when I watched that tele the other night I just thought 'that's our brother, that's our brother'. And I couldn't be prouder of what you've done on that show because you showed the world that we are f***ing human, and we are f***ing lovely people and we want the best for everyone else.'
