U2 to Release First Studio Album in Nine Years with New Single

Irish rock band U2 have announced their first studio album of new material in nine years, alongside a new single titled Street Of Dreams. The Bono-led group will release the as-yet untitled album later this year, while the single dropped on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

Single and Video Details

The single Street Of Dreams was released on Island Records and produced by Jacknife Lee. It is accompanied by a video shot in Mexico City, where the band attended the 2026 Street Child World Cup Finals Tournament at Parque Ecologico Lago Ae Texcoco. The clip shows U2—completed by guitarist The Edge, bassist Adam Clayton, and drummer Larry Mullen Jr.—performing for fans in the city. Filmed near Plaza Santo Domingo amid thunder and rain, the shoot experienced a generator crash, leading a local family to welcome the band into their apartment to film from the balcony.

Band's 50th Anniversary

The release comes as U2 celebrate 50 years together in 2026. Since forming in Dublin in 1976, the band has achieved seven UK number one singles and 11 number one albums. Their upcoming record follows 2023's Songs Of Surrender, which featured re-recorded versions of older songs, and 2017's Songs Of Experience.
