Sky TV Unveils F1 Upgrade and Ultimate Streaming Bundle

Sky has confirmed a significant enhancement to its television services, with a blockbuster upgrade for Formula 1 coverage and a new bundled subscription plan. The broadcaster is set to roll out these innovations, offering some customers free access to advanced features and a cost-effective streaming package.

Immersive F1 Experience for Sky Sports Subscribers

The F1 season is underway, with George Russell securing victory in Melbourne, and Sky is boosting the viewing experience for fans. A major TV upgrade will introduce a new interactive sidebar during race weekends, available on Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q devices. This feature includes tools like Race Control and Recap, allowing viewers to re-watch key moments such as dramatic overtakes and check live in-race standings easily.

Enhanced Features and Navigation

Beyond the sidebar, the update provides dedicated driver and team pages, offering access to onboard cameras, enhanced race data, explainers, and improved homepage navigation. Sky stated in an email to Express.co.uk, "New for 2026, fans can look forward to even more flexibility and choice with a new immersive sidebar for TV viewing during race weekends."

Sky has not announced an exact launch date, but the upgrade is expected later in the 2026 season. It will be free for existing Sky Sports subscribers, with no additional cost required.

New Ultimate TV Subscription Plan

In addition to the F1 upgrade, Sky has launched the Ultimate TV subscription plan, priced at £24 per month. This bundle combines several major streaming services at a reduced rate, offering strong value by bringing together around £20 worth of content in one package.

What's Included in the £24 Bundle

The Ultimate TV plan includes:

  • Netflix Standard with Ads
  • Disney+ Standard with Ads (available from March)
  • HBO Max Basic with Ads (launching in the UK from March 26)
  • Hayu (with selected shows from March, full access from July)
  • Over 130 Sky channels

This plan is available to both new and existing customers, providing a comprehensive entertainment solution. Sky's move aims to enhance viewer engagement through interactive sports features and streamline access to popular streaming platforms, reflecting ongoing trends in the media and technology sectors.
