Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen: Duffer Brothers' New Horror Series Is Absolutely Terrifying

The creators of Stranger Things have returned with a new Netflix horror series, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, which premieres on Thursday 26 March. The show follows a happy couple, Nicky (Adam DiMarco) and Rachel (Camila Morrone), as they head to a remote cabin in the woods for their wedding. But from the outset, things take a sinister turn.

The couple encounter unsettling events on their journey, including a baby locked in a car and a man watching Rachel in a restroom. Upon arriving at the cabin, which is far larger than expected, they are greeted by a haunting family portrait with an empty chair and stuffed Irish wolfhounds whose eyes Rachel is warned not to meet. The atmosphere is thick with dread, amplified by distorted music and dim lighting.

That night, Rachel learns of the 'Sorry Man', a terrifying figure drawn to blood who seeks his lost wife in the entrails of brides. The story is told by Portia, Nicky's sister, who delivers it with chilling nonchalance. The series is elevated by Jennifer Jason Leigh's performance as a strange matriarch, whose midnight appearance adds to the tension.

As the wedding approaches, Rachel finds a note reading 'Don't Marry Him', dripping with blood. The show cleverly intertwines themes of marriage and murder, playing with wedding traditions in a macabre way. For horror fans, this series promises a deeply unsettling experience, blending psychological terror with visceral imagery.
