From Tuesday 6 February, award-winning presenters Elis James and John Robins are releasing two podcasts on BBC Sounds every week. The BBC Radio 5 Live duo are returning with a fresh new-look podcast for 2024, offering more laughs and features.
The first episode of the revamped podcast, which won gold in the Best Entertainment category at the 2023 British Podcast Awards, will launch on BBC Sounds on 6 February. A feature-packed version will air on BBC Radio 5 Live on Friday afternoons from 1pm-2pm.
Produced by independent production company Audio Always, the podcast will be hosted in a new studio. Episodes will include personal anecdotes, pop culture references, and occasional special guests, as the comedians navigate life with their unique blend of humour and wisdom.
Presenter Elis James said: “John is one of the world’s great polymaths... we’re so excited to spearhead a campaign for a fully digital Britain by 2032.” John Robins added: “Somehow we've created a bigger, smaller, longer, shorter, live and pre-recorded podcast, creating a digital bridge between BBC Sounds and Radio 5 Live.”
