Disney+ is offering a limited-time deal of three months at £3.99 per month, down from £5.99, just in time for the premiere of The Testaments, the highly anticipated sequel series to The Handmaid's Tale. The first three episodes are now streaming in the UK, with new episodes releasing weekly every Wednesday.
What is The Testaments About?
Based on Margaret Atwood's Booker Prize-winning novel, The Testaments is set roughly five years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale. The series follows three women: Agnes Mackenzie (also known as Hannah), who is raised within Gilead under Aunt Lydia's watch; Daisy, a teenager raised outside Gilead who is recruited into the system; and Aunt Lydia, whose influence within the regime becomes central. The showrunner Bruce Miller described it as "like Mean Girls growing up in Gilead," offering a coming-of-age story from the perspective of those at the top of the hierarchy.

The Testaments is streaming exclusively on Disney+ in the UK. The first season consists of 10 episodes, with the first three released on April 8. Remaining episodes air weekly every Wednesday.
Disney+ Subscription Deals
The standard with ads tier is reduced to £3.99 per month for three months (normally £5.99). The standard ad-free tier is £6.99 per month for three months (was £9.99). The premium tier, offering 4K streaming and support for four devices, is £9.99 per month (was £14.99). After three months, subscriptions renew at the regular monthly price. Annual plans are also available, saving over 16%: standard tier at £99.90 per year, premium at £149.90 per year.
Disney+ is also included in Sky's Ultimate TV bundle, starting at £24 per month, which includes Sky TV, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu.
How Does the Series Differ from the Book?
The biggest difference is the timeline. The book is set 15 years after The Handmaid's Tale, while the series is set approximately four to five years after the finale, making Agnes (Hannah) a teenager on screen. This shift allows for a more immediate connection to the original story.
The offer ends May 6. Don't miss this chance to catch up on the world of Gilead.
