BBC iPlayer has quietly released a new documentary that true crime enthusiasts are calling a 'hard watch'. Titled Storyville: The Darkest Web, the film follows undercover officers as they investigate online child sexual exploitation on the dark web.
The documentary, which premiered on BBC Four on February 17, was filmed over seven years and tracks detectives from multiple jurisdictions as they work to identify and apprehend offenders. The BBC describes the mission as tracking 'serial paedophiles who operate across the Dark Web with the same sophistication and secrecy as international organised crime syndicates'.
Viewers have taken to social media to share their reactions. One TikTok user described it as a 'must watch', while another said: 'That was a hard watch, those investigators deserve the world, what an awful job they have.' On X, a user posted: 'Wow, that was a really hard watch.'
The documentary is part of the BBC's Storyville strand and is available to stream now on BBC iPlayer.
