William Wears Disguise for Motorbike Rides Despite Kate's Horror

Prince William has admitted that he wears a disguise to go for motorbike rides without being detected, even though his wife Kate is "filled with horror" at the dangerous hobby. The Prince of Wales shared his love for bikes during a visit to Norfolk Blood Bikes on Thursday, held near his Anmer Hall home.

William said he likes to ride "quietly" and "in disguise," while Kate once confessed that his motorbike hobby leaves her terrified. During the visit, he inspected a fleet of 25 bikes and cars used to transport essential medical supplies.

William's Love for Bikes

Seeing the bikes lined up, William said, "I love bikes" and added, "I do still ride now and again, quietly." With a knowing nod, he mentioned, "Disguise." Speaking to bikers at Norwich University Hospital, he remarked, "It’s a crucial part of the community, not many people understand the network. You guys provide such a crucial link to what goes on. You guys are amazing."

Kate's Concerns

Princess Kate has long been worried about William's motorbike hobby. In 2015, when their children George and Charlotte were young, she said, "He's still riding it. It always fills me with horror when he goes out on it. I'm terrified. Hopefully, I'm going to keep George off it."

Listening to her concerns, the future King has scaled back on his hobby. At the Isle of Man TT races in 2018, William said, "I'm a dad of three. I have to tone it down. I miss big trips, for me biking was always about being with everybody else."

Past Adventures

Despite toning down, William couldn't resist test-driving a Triumph Tiger 1200 in 2018. He passed his motorcycle test in 2002 at age 19. Years later, he and Prince Harry embarked on a 1,000-mile off-road course across South Africa, raising £500,000 for charity.

King Charles also worries about his sons' safety on bikes, once saying, "I always worry about them. It's about other cars not being able to see you. I'm always telling my sons that."
