Prince Harry is preparing to return to the UK, and a former royal butler has offered an eight-word verdict on how his estranged brother, Prince William, might respond if Harry apologised: "Even with a public apology, I don’t see any way back now between the two of them."
The brothers are reportedly not on speaking terms, though some have suggested a reconciliation could be on the cards. Their relationship began to sour shortly after Harry met Meghan Markle in 2016. The couple married in 2018, and by 2020 they stepped down from their roles as working royals.
Brothers did not meet during Harry's UK visit
In July, Prince Harry and Meghan made a five-day trip to the UK to mark the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games. They brought their two children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, and were hosted in a private meeting by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House. They did not meet with Prince William.
Grant Harrold, who worked for the Royal Family between 2004 and 2011, shared his assessment on The Royals Uncensored podcast, as reported by News24.
Butler: William 'doesn't want anything to do with' Harry
Speaking about Prince William, Harrold claimed: "He doesn't want anything to do with his brother."
He added: "Even with a public apology, I don’t see any way back now between the two of them. From what I’m hearing from the inside, William is still adamant."
Prince Harry has made a series of public allegations against his family, beginning with a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, followed by the Netflix series Harry & Meghan and his memoir, Spare.
