Princess Catherine sparked a fan frenzy as she arrived at Leeds Rhinos today, with royal watchers quickly united in praise for her latest appearance. The Princess of Wales, 44, looked radiant as she joined Prince William for the visit, with the couple all smiles as they met players, staff and people supported by the club’s charitable work.
Fans praise Catherine’s green outfit
In true Catherine fashion, she also flew the flag for British fashion, stepping out in another smart autumn look that immediately caught attention. Her make-up was fresh and understated, while her signature brunette locks fell in soft waves over her shoulders.
Fans took to X, with one writing, "She looks lovely in green," followed by a heart-eyed emoji. A second fan added, "Catherine has been doing quite a bit of green lately and I'm just loving it on her!" whilst another added: "Love the green on Princess Catherine."
Visit highlights Rob Burrow’s legacy
The Prince and Princess were at the club to learn more about how Leeds Rhinos Foundation is using the power of sport to support communities, improve wellbeing and create opportunities across the city. Rob Burrow’s extraordinary legacy was also firmly at the heart of the visit, giving the engagement an especially poignant meaning.
Prince William already shares a particularly meaningful connection with Rob Burrow and his family. In January 2024, the Prince travelled to Headingley Stadium and personally presented Burrow and his former Leeds Rhinos teammate Kevin Sinfield with their CBEs for services to motor neurone disease awareness.
The future King told Burrow that the work he had done was “changing people’s lives with MND”, while also praising the remarkable bond between Burrow and Sinfield and the fundraising movement they had created. After Burrow died aged 41 in June 2024, William led royal tributes, describing him as a “legend of Rugby League” with a “huge heart” and sending his and Catherine’s love to Burrow’s wife Lindsey and their children.
William’s ongoing connection to Leeds
The connection continued in November 2025, when the Prince returned to Leeds to open the purpose-built Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease at Seacroft Hospital, fulfilling a promise he had made before Burrow’s death. There, he met Lindsey, their children and Kevin Sinfield, telling the family they should be “so proud” of Rob’s legacy.
Burrow, who spent his entire professional rugby league career with Leeds Rhinos, was diagnosed with MND in 2019 and went on to become one of the country’s most prominent campaigners for greater awareness and support for people living with the disease. Alongside Sinfield, his campaigning helped raise millions of pounds and inspired fundraising projects including the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon and the new MND centre that now bears his name.
Today’s visit therefore brings William back to a club and community with which he already has a deeply personal history.
