Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have announced the birth of their third child, a baby girl, born in Lisbon, Portugal. The couple shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday night, posting a photo of the newborn in a pink baby grow.
In the announcement, Princess Eugenie said: 'Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie.' This is the couple's first daughter, following the births of their sons August and Ernest. The couple are taking time to decide on her name.
Royal statement confirms birth details
The Royal Family confirmed the arrival in a statement, which read: 'Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal.'
The statement added: 'The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.'
Line of succession and family context
The baby, who will not be an HRH, is 15th in line to the throne, moving her great uncle, the Duke of Edinburgh, to 16th place. She is also the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II, and the third to be born since her death in 2022.
The new arrival is the fifth grandchild of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, following the birth of Princess Beatrice's daughter Athena Mapelli Mozzi in January last year.
