Prince William has shared a relatable confession about life at home with Princess Catherine and their three children, revealing that their family dog, Orla, often joins them at bedtime.
During a visit to Duchy College in Cornwall, the Prince of Wales met royal onlooker Louise Harland and her dog, Jacks. As he petted the dog and spoke with its owner about his own pet, William said his dog "loves cuddles" as well, adding that "she's in my bed all the time," according to Reader's Digest.
A Unique Breed Encounter
Harland told Hits Radio Cornwall that William was "absolutely in love with my little dog." She added: "He asked what breed he was, and he's never met one of those breeds. He's a cockerjack, so he's a little bit of a unique combination."
Orla, a cocker spaniel, is not the family's first pet. William and Catherine's previous dog, Lupo—a wedding present from Kate's brother James—died in November 2020. In 2022, Orla featured in a photo with Princess Charlotte that was released to mark her seventh birthday.
Guinea Pigs at Home
The Wales family have more pets and are often heard talking about their love of animals. During a visit to Woodgate Valley Urban Farm, Prince William met a range of animals, including guinea pigs. He was allowed to pet them and brush the fur of one called Snowflake.
He told those at the farm: "These guys are pretty cool. We've got guinea pigs at home and they are not like this. I have to spend my life cleaning out the guinea pig cage because the children forget to do it. And then they run off because you have to handle them all the time, that's why these ones are so calm. The ones we've got at home, they're off. You have to keep them constantly stroked and looked after."
