The couple have shown tactfulness and sound judgement, particularly as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, once two of the "Fab Four," sought to inflict deep wounds in the Firm from across the Atlantic. They have got on with the job, which is what the Sussexes should have been doing all along.
William's Decision on Diana Tributes
Reports suggest that William has made another good choice by rejecting offers to contribute towards films about Princess Diana to mark the 30th anniversary of her death next year. During what will be a solemn period of reflection, it is wise for the heir to the throne to steer clear of these projects and stick to communications and public appearances as a working member of the royal family.
This is especially the case given the furore that has erupted over Earl Spencer's book about his sister — Swan Song: Diana, My Sister. Diana meant a lot to many people, and it might be best to let them mark the anniversary in their own way, perhaps aided by a short, dignified social media video or statement by William of his own reflections.
Avoiding Conflict with Prince Harry
It is believed that William has decided to avoid the programme tributes as it would also present a risk of conflict with Prince Harry, who may want to do his own thing. Apparently, Diana's youngest son has been in talks with Netflix to take part in a documentary about her.
Of course, the Duke of Sussex will want to be front and centre of whatever happens, as he usually does. He has made sure to make clear that he is still a "public figure" despite no longer being a working member of the Firm.

Meghan posted a photo on Instagram of her family apparently visiting Diana's grave in July. Harry, seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet could be seen walking down a path on the Althorp Estate carrying bouquets of flowers.
William seems to want to take a more private and dignified approach, another sign that he is going to be an incredible king.
