The Duchess of Sussex has sent her followers into a frenzy with a cryptic teaser for her first product launch of 2026. Meghan Markle used the Instagram account for her lifestyle brand, As Ever, to post a 'save the date' message for 13 January.
A Cryptic Clue and a Calendar Mark
The teaser featured a picture of a blank journal with a black leather bookmark bearing the gold-embossed words 'Fell asleep' placed inside. The caption read, 'For the chapters you want to savor most... 1.13.26.' Followers were instructed to look out for the new product drop at 9am Pacific Time, which translates to 5pm on Tuesday, 13 January in the UK.
This launch will be the first for the As Ever brand this year, as it approaches its first anniversary in April. However, the buzz around the new journal comes amid unexpected revelations about the scale of the existing business.
Website Glitch Exposes Vast Inventory Figures
Earlier this week, a technical bug on the As Ever website allowed online sleuths to uncover precise stock numbers for the entire collection of spreads, honeys, candles, teas, and wines. The exploit was triggered when users attempted to add abnormally high quantities of items to their shopping baskets, prompting the site to reveal its maximum available stock.
According to reports, the figures were staggering. For instance, the data suggested that for the Signature Fruit Spread Box, there were 137,465 units available. While initially interpreted as slow sales, sources have since indicated to The Sun that this was the remaining stock from an initial order of one million jars.
With the spread box retailing at £31, this single product line could have generated approximately £26.7 million in sales. A source close to the brand stated, 'I think it’s fair to say business isn’t just successful, it’s flying off the shelf. Meghan inadvertently revealed that one million jars were ordered for that one product, and has only 130,000 left.'
Alleged screenshots from the website glitch showed total inventory including:
- Over 220,000 jars of spread
- 30,000 jars of honey
- Almost 90,000 candles
- Over 110,000 jars of tea
- More than 77,000 bottles of wine
Fallout and Future Plans
The bug was swiftly fixed after the post went viral on platforms like Reddit. The As Ever website now has purchase limits in place, such as a maximum of 50 spread gift boxes or 20 bottles of wine per order. Attempts to add excessive quantities now return an error message. The brand has not publicly commented on the incident.
This business update coincides with personal travel plans for the Duchess. It is reported that Meghan Markle is planning a return to Britain this summer for the first time in four years. She is expected to join Prince Harry at an Invictus Games event in Birmingham in July, pending the approval of security arrangements for the couple during their UK visit.
The potential trip aligns with a one-year countdown event for the 2027 Invictus Games, scheduled for 10 July. Her return would mark a significant moment, as the Duke of Sussex continues a legal battle regarding security provision for his family when visiting the UK.
